The lights are on
The Oculus Rift is fast becoming a popular plaything for PC games hacking. The head-mounted device allows users to play games in 3D with full head-tracking functionality, including tilt. And now a YouTube user has posted video of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim running on the device.
Chris Gallizzi posted the video below on his YouTube channel.
Oculus VR has been shipping out dev kits for the units over the past few weeks. The company isn't providing any details about the consumer units, however, so we'll have to wait to learn even basic information including approximate price and release window beyond "a price that everyone can afford" and "as soon as possible."
Email the author Jeff Cork, or follow on Twitter, Google+, Facebook, and Game Informer.
I cannot wait to try this. A guy in my guild has one of the Dev kits and says it's amazing. From everything I've read, you really need to try it to fully understand how awesome it feels.
Interesting might half to look into getting one
You don't need the dev kit, just cross your eyes while playing, it works perfectly!
I Kid XD
I really liked the Half Life video. In that video, the head and weapons were independent so it felt a little better as you looked around, you didn't always have your hands following your face. This is still really cool, reminds me of The Real Adventures of Johnny Quest.
That's cool. I crossed my eyes and watched it in 3D but now I have a headache.
will this work for people who wear glasses? because i want one more than anything ever made ever.
I don't consider this hacking. Especially since the game encourages modding, and this is possible with mods, and hardware.
This plus an omnidirectional treadmill and we are in buisness! Games will never be the same. :)
All of my dreams are slowly coming true. :)
