Nintendo revealed several bits of news and game announcements during its Nintendo Direct presentation this morning, but the company saved the best for last. An all-new Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past game is coming to the 3DS this holiday season.
Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime said during the announcement that the 3DS game was incorporating the hardware's 3D capabilities in the dungeon design. In one example, we saw Link smashing round, smiling buttons in the face with a mallet, turning them into frowny-faced divots. They seemed to get over it pretty quickly, bouncing back up and launching Link upward onto the tower's next level.
Another new tool in Link's arsenal is his ability to turn into a 2D drawing. Players can then traverse along flat surfaces such as walls to solve puzzles. The best example in the clip had Link scurrying along a wall and through an otherwise impassable barred window. Sometimes 2D isn't a bad thing.
Nintendo says the 3D presentation is so integral to the still-unnamed game that they'll be releasing a 3D clip of it in action sometime today in the eShop. Stay tuned.

Missed out on phantom hourglass and spirit tracks (i think?), but yes. 3ds xl in my future. Hopefully they'll release a bundle come the holidays.
THIS is why I am glad to own a 3ds. But am I the only one who noticed those first few enimies looked like spinies?
I watched the video ON my 3DS and the game play looks amazing in 3D...I can not wait!!!!!
This should be put on the Wii and Wii U as well, to make it 3DS only is complete ***!
It's official! Pikachu 3DS and PS4 Kingdom Hearts Edition, (fingers crossed that that will happen when KH3 comes out!) HERE I COME!!!!!!
I may eventually buy a 3DS for the first-party games. MAY. Not sure yet. Would either need to be really cheap or refurbed probably. This game sounds pretty good though.
in the words of the great Eorlund Gray-Mane "GODS BE PRAISED" lol
This seems like a brand new game to me, not a remake. This looks pretty amazing. I wonder if they are redesigning the game from the ground up though?
Fanboys rejoice. TLOZALTTP2 will be awesome. PS Vitas wettest dream couldn't have a quest this good. Wii U and 3DS is the systems to have. Buy the other ones when the price drops.
Get a 360 now that it's 100 dollars. That's what its worth.

I'm pretty excited for this game. I just got my 3DS. Glad I have Fire Emblem to hold me over for a while.
