The lights are on
Final Fantasy Versus XIII was first announced in May 2006, and since then has been a specter haunting Square Enix. Nary an interview goes by with key franchise personnel without the title being brought up (and hurriedly dismissed). We've even put together our own timeline of the title's wending way through development.
In a conversation with director Tetsuya Nomura on the first episode of Square Enix Merchandise Radio (an official corporate podcast), the topic of Final Fantasy Versus XIII was raised. “It’s a delicate situation within the company,” Nomura stated.
After a promise that the date is set for the next information reveal, Nomura drops one more interesting tidbit. "Perhaps the details as to why information couldn’t be released might be touched upon with the next information announcement."

I wonder if they've just been working on bringing it to the PlayStation 4.
Did Square Enix get hit on the Head somewhere between 2006 and now? This is the kind of stuff you say about a year after the announcement of the game, not seven.
Probably be awful like all of the FFXIII games anyway. What's the difference? They need to go back to their roots even though no one currently with the company has any deep roots from thier glory days.
Well said scroted I enjoued all those games and honeatly this game has died for me duxk ff I want kingdom hearts 3 we waited almost ten years give it to me now it jus posses me off cuz was development not even supposed to start on kh3 untill afta they finished this and 7 years later still nothing square u r really starting to disapoint me as a developer
Start a project, focus on it, finish it. No game should take 8 years to make. This game should have either been scraped in 2009 or had all the focus and finished by 2010.
I've been waiting for this game ever since I heard about.
I think the reason it cannot be disclosed at this moment is, because Sony had it as an exclusive for PS4 or they left development just to do that FF VII remake everyone wants....
Just cancel the f***ing game already. This title was announced when FF was something special.
