The lights are on
The XL version of the 3DS Circle Pad Pro has quietly appeared for sale on Nintendo's online store for U.S. consumers.
The accessory adds a second control stick to the 3DS handheld, something very useful for games like Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Resident Evil: Revelations, and Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance. The accessory has been available for some time for the original model 3DS, but this is the first time we've been able to purchase the XL version here in the United States.

This thing was stupid from the get-go, and I really hoped Nintendo was indicating they were dropping support for it by not including it actually on the XL. I get that virtually all games utilize dual stick control schemes, but developers should work with what they've got.
Here it is. I said this was going to happen. Dual analogs should have been on the XL already, and on the original 3DS for that matter. A total rip-off that shines a light on Nintendo's stupidity.
Fanboys claim that Nintendo is "doing fine" without dual analog, and that the second stick is only supported by a handful of games. Well...
1) It doesn't matter how well Nintendo is doing. The games matter, and how well the games are played on the device. Leading to..
2) If Nintendo had put two analogs in from the start, it would be standard, and more than "only a handful of games" would support it.
Many of the more popular genres in modern games are controlled by a dual analog/shoulder button scheme. That's a fact.
Oh Nintendo, just release a 3DSi with a second analog stick built in so we can just move past all this.
With the current condition of the Wii U, I don't think Nintendo can afford to even think about a new model of the 3DS. At this point, I think they are just hoping to turn a profit and stay solvent.
I'm glad they're releasing this, but I'll be damned if that doesn't look uncomfortable to use.
Awesome. I don't hink I need one, but that's great for 3DS games like Snake Eater that need two control sticks.
that looks silly son, down right silly
Yes finally! Ordering mine now =D
Just a matter of time. I wish they would just release a 2 stick 3DS already.
Aha. Well, that's interesting I suppose.
Oh thank god it is so cheap. I was really thinking about importing it, but the $40 difference helps make the choice.
The XL is getting love. Not only did they make this, but they even made a an XL with a built-in capture card, in case you didn't have a normal 3DS. Pretty cool.
