The lights are on
Sega revealed today that the world’s favorite rodent, Mickey Mouse (sorry Sonic) will have a classic Sega Genesis title remade in HD. The first screenshots and trailer for the game have been released and they look great.
The announcement follows reports of listings for Castle of Illusion on the Australian ratings board. The Aussie developer, Sega Studios Australia, is reportedly working with the creator of the original game for the remake.
The game will be available on XBLA, PSN, and PC in the Summer of 2013. For more screens head over to Sega's Blog.

I wonder if this will be better than Power of Illusion.
That's alright. Nice graphics.
That's cool, I've heard great things about it and always wanted to give it a go. Still rather it have been sonic1-3 or shenmue tho :/
loved this game as a kid. Great to see it come back in HD goodness.
It is cool to see old games given new life. That's the one cool thing about downloading.
See this was one of those games that didn't need to be touched by HD. If they were going to do anything take the Rayman Origins approach. Why don't these big companies do more games like that? I personally detest 2.5D.
It's great to see these classics make a return. I was more of a fan of World of Illusion, but very cool none the less.
Hedgehogs are not rodents...that is all.
pretty good, i iove 2d platform.
Aw yea, I am definitely looking forward to this. The original was fantastic.
That is one of my favorite Genesis games! Here's hoping that it turns out alright. Though, I was hoping that they would keep it with 2D characters and just make it beautiful like Rayman Origins.
i'd like to see mickey mania redone. but in 2-d.
