The lights are on
Those hoping for another trip to Paradise City are in for some disappointment. Brilliant arcade-style racing developer Criterion's next title will not be in the Burnout or Need for Speed franchises. In fact, it won't be a racing game at all.
Today, the studio's creative director, Alex Ward, tweeted the following message to fans,
While we're certainly eager to see what comes next (and, no, it won't be Black 2), it's a shame that we'll need to bide our time before Criterion's next bone-crunching racer. Thankfully, Ward does say that they'll make another Burnout game "when it feels right." If you haven't had the chance to pick up Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, or Burnout: Paradise, they can all be purchased for a song. As you can tell from our reviews, they're worth it.

Hmm, I'm interested to see what direction they'll go in next.
I'm a fan of Criterions so I'll definitely give their new game a chance. I'd rather have them making another Burnout Paradise though. Hopefully that will be next.
Wow... that's all I really have to say. Good Luck I guess, that's cool.
They're a fantastic dev, so I'm all for something new.
I'm excited for something new from them!
Sounds good to me! New consoles sound awesome but I want new IPs to play on them and this could be one!
I just wanted Burnout:Takedown 2...
What about Blac- damn it...
What could they possibly be working on?
That sucks. I loved their burnout titles. Probably the only racing series I would ever play nowadays.
This is good. I like it when developers experiment around with other genres and series.
Just don't be ANOTHER FPS. But I am interested to see where this goes.
About time they change things up! Seems as thought they where releasing a new racing game every couple of months.
