The lights are on
A number of sources have revealed to The Verge that the next-generation Xbox will be able to interact with users' TV programming similarly to Google TV.
An always-on Internet connection will apparently be required to allow for continuous streaming of entertainment services and TV signals. The cable box signal will connect to the Xbox with an HDMI cord so that the Live UI can interact with cable programming.
Previous rumors from The Verge point to a pre-E3 Xbox event in May, but nothing is confirmed yet. Head to The Verge to learn more.
I just want my Xbox to play games. That's it.
Well if you have too have a state of the art TV, Cable Subscription, or both this Xbox can go **** itself. I have neither and refuse to dish out the money.
Unsubstantiated Rumor: New Xbox will require a cable tv subscription!
$60 a year to pay for a cable box that hooks to the cable box I already pay for?
Microsoft isn't dumb they aren't making a consle that is always on every console that has ever came out has had stupid rumors to deface the company/creators in any way posible
the more i hear, the more i believe the rumors are true...
If I can dvr things I'll be happy and if that's what always on is required for and not send on games I'll be fine with it. If I can play offline I'll be happy too
If Microsoft offered this always online/entertainment box as a premium deal I wouldn't mind, but if it's a console standard then Sony is about to clean up next generation
I guess this is cool, as long as I can play videogames, I'm good.
