The lights are on
[Update] Game Informer has received the following statement from Ubisoft, "We are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it quickly. No personal information was compromised. Uplay's PC download service will be unavailable until the problem is fixed, however all other Uplay services remain available."
[Original Story]
Hackers are at it again. According to reports, the copies of Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon that are available on torrent sites are the result of a Russian hack of Ubisoft's uPlay service. According to a report on Gameranx, a piece of code was used to trick the uPlay servers into bestowing ownership of the titles without purchase, including those not even available to the public.
Furthermore, the exploits can be used to play the games offline, circumventing DRM. Ubisoft has taken flak from PC gamers over oppressive piracy prevention measures, and the publisher has recently stated a desire to repair relationships with affected gamers. We can't wait to play Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon either, but piracy isn't the way to go. Original footage proving authenticity of the hack has been removed by Ubisoft, but it continues to emerge from other users.
We've reached out to Ubisoft for comment.

i've loved ubisoft lately personally ( yearly ac releases aside), but i could see them being upset about their drm. honestly tho i was just happy they forsaked always on drm a while back n patched all their games .......with the exception of the 1 i actually own -_-
I'm glad they got hacked. They need to get rid of that PoS. That service/feature is the most broken online component in games and slows games down every time there's a challenge made or even keeping it connected. While the internet to the console and or pc is working just fine. I hope the hackers destroy that service to where it cannot be repaired.
Also, they should take all the employees personal info and mess up their credit. They deserve it for being in bed with EA.
No one plays uPlay!!!
So...this is a actual new game..not DLC.
My god thats a confusing title then.
This looks awesome!!Day 1 purchase for sure, from what I can tell game play looks pretty solid.
Yes Ubisoft needs a little work, but hacking doesn't help.
Once again Hackers no life scumbags
Seriously though the game looks amazing. I'm seriously still gonna buy it.
While I am completely against DRM and "always on", Acts like this are not the solution and only add fuel to the fire.
I just want some details on this game.
Well, leave it to hackers to get more news for us.
It's a shame this had to happen.
Hackers will hack. People will always want something for free. But if a company chooses to punish all of its consumers for the actions of a very, very small few - well, we've seen how well that goes over. Honestly, this doesn't even strike me as news, except that...
this game looks AWESOME!! Over the top, stupid, weird neon lights everywhere...it's like somebody woke up and remembered what it was like to make a video game again. I'm all for more realistic textures and blah blah, but shouldn't it be equally fun to play something that oozes as much cool as this? I dunno, maybe I'm just not aware of enough games, but just seeing this gameplay scratched an itch I didn't even know I had, and can't get rid of now.
That's a shame, buuuuuuut, it does make a headline I 'spose.
lol, this infos is just like Go and download the game....
