The lights are on
The upcoming Donkey Kong Country Returns port for 3DS has been somewhat mysterious. We knew it would be a direct port and add stereoscopic 3D, but we weren't sure if it would have anything completely new.
A press release on Nintendo's UK site reveals that the game will in fact have new content. You can check out the full release here, but here are the highlights:
Grab the letters that spell out K-O-N-G and nab puzzle pieces hidden in each stage to unlock extra content, like super-tough Trophy levels. Unlock and conquer every one of these special stages and a brand new surprise awaits!New mode makes the going just a little easier, giving Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong three hearts each instead of the usual two, letting them Kong-a for longer! Spend your hard-earned Banana Coins on helpful items from Cranky Kong’s shop, and pick up new items that help save you from falls, allow the Mine Cart and Rocket Barrel to take a second hit, and even let you use a DK Barrel whenever you like.Discover brand new content created just for Nintendo 3DS.
Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D will be available for 3DS next month, May 24.

Really looking forward to this!
I had it on Wii, but I'll play it here too.
Unless it's substantially new content, I won't be buying the same game twice.
Sounds fun, as I have missed out on the Wii version. Hopefully I'll enjoy iy.
Hmmm...I dunno if I will buy it again. I very well might, though.
Missed out on playing this on the Wii, so maybe if I have money, I'll get this for my 3DS :P
Funny, these kinds of additions from any other publisher on any other format would be implemented as cash micro-transactions. Good to see Nintendo isn't going down that road.
Look, new content that we don't have to pay for. Their is a god. :)
That's pretty cool! But I already have this for the Wii so I can't bring myself to buy it again....
I'm probably going to pick this up. One of the reasons that I didn't get Donkey Kong Country Returns was because I couldn't justify a $50 platformer for a system that I didn't use that often, but this should get me into the series.
