The lights are on
Todd McFarlane, a stalwart creator of video game action figures and collectibles, is responsible for the design of the new Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag poster.
The poster, depicting new hero Edward Kenway, can only be obtained for a limited time by pre-ordering the title at Gamestop. Black Flag follows the story of Kenway as he takes up piracy just after war has ended between the great Empires of the world. He is quickly thrust into a new war between Assassins and Templars during the golden age of piracy. Expect to meet Blackbeard.
Black Flag will release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, PC and other next-gen consoles. The Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U will get the game on October 29.
See the upcoming title in action in our preview, or read up on the history Black Flag is based on in our feature about real pirates. Below you can watch how McFarlane designed the new poster.
Are you excited for this game? What do you think of the poster’s design?
Full disclosure: Game Informer is owned by Gamestop.
From what I've seen so far, Assassin's Creed 4 is quite amazing. I've played the first (I think 15 minutes) of gameplay from a demo I've found. I've even played through a complete sea-fight. If anyone else is interested, here's the webpage: lootspace.hostavo.com/ac4demo
(takes a few minutes to go through the steps, but totally worth it).
After playing the first way a while back I couldn't get myself to playing any of the sequels. I may have to rethink my position when this game comes out.
The graphic's not so perfect as expected. There's much to be done, actually way too much from that of Age of Wushu's! Despite the beatiful sceneries, the moves and the special-effects in AoW are cool! You deserve a try!
My wife just pre-ordered this game for me for our anniversay. I appreciate her support of my almost 30 year gaming history, considering she has absolutely no interest in gaming, but she could at least pay attention to the games I actually talk about.
Of all the games to pre-order right now I've been more interested in Last of Us, and there have been many commercials for this game we have seen together. In addition to that, Last of Us releases right around our anniversary as opposed to four months after our anniversary.
i wonder what the next ac will be
I cant wait for this to be released!
Looks good, I've always enjoyed Todd's work.
Good 'ol Todd. Got a lot of Spawn and Spidey issues of his (that he drew, not that I stole from him). Never could get into the figures (or that wretched video game), but glad to see hes still drawin' up a storm in between Home-Run ball purchases. Agree with Lou, too....that drawing table is amazing. Didn't realize that's what the industry was working with these days.
