The lights are on
With a sword in one hand and a history book in the other, Tecmo Koei has announced Dynasty Warriors 8 for a summer release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
The game comes out on July 16, and it brings back the fodder-cutting action in ancient China the series is known for.
Dynasty Warriors 8 also introduces "What If?" scenarios that depart from the franchises' traditional focus on the Three Kingdoms story. Regardless of the different outcomes in this mode, we imagine history will once again be written in blood.

I thought this was Dynasty Warriors 243 to the tenth power.
Yes! I've been waiting for this. Looks like they've stepped up the graphics a bit from 7 and added some new modes/features.
Gameplay isn't everything with DW, since it can get repetitive. You really have to appreciate the characters, historical setting, and sheer craziness of the series in order to enjoy it (much like Sengoku Basara).
Ah my guilty pleasure, I love these games.
I have a soft spot for the Dynasty Warrior franchise. I'm looking forward to checking it out.
cool. can anyone tell me if it will come out in digital or dics?
Great way to let off some steam!!!!!! BRING ON THE FODDER!!!!
I know it's the same thing, but I love this series!
Just like everyone in the comments I have soft spot for this series.
how many of this garbage should we endure? koei cant make anything good, they even managed to destroy doa and ninja gaiden...
See, this is a game series that's at it's best when you play wit a friend. You're wasting you're time if you don't take a buddy along for the ride.
why are people chastising other people for liking a series? who care why you like it or not...the whole point of gaming is to find something that you love....game on gamers, and stop hating because you don't like a particular game...
hopefully this one at least tries to mixup the formula like 6 i like how the rembu gave battles some purpose instead of just mindlessly mashing Square and the throws and stuff dont see why they were axed in 7 instead of being improved upon
After seeing them make versions with Gundam, Fist of the North Star, and One Piece, I would honestly love to see a Dynasty Warriors style Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo game. Bo-bobo is one of my favorite animes, and seeing as how its a parody of Fist of the North Star, I think it would make for a great hack-n-slash/beat-em-up.
I do want to pick one of these up for some mindless killing... I'm just not really sure which one, and I'm definitely not getting them all, since they're pretty much the same.
I find it incredibly unjust that these games keep getting made by the truckload while Bulletstorm-- one of the funnest and most original FPS games I've ever played-- is denied just one sequel.
I enjoyed Dynasty Warriors quite a bit the first time I played it, but does it really need 7 sequels?
The answer is "Leave me alone, I'm playing other more interesting games".
Awesome. I can't wait!
i loved dynasty warrior 2 and 3 after that i was like gah damm its just the same game over and over again...how about something like mount and blade during that time period
The Mighty LU BU!
I may have to check this one out. I haven't played a Dynasty Warrior game in quite a while.
