New Infiltrator Demo Showcases The Power of Unreal Engine 4

by Matt Bertz on Mar 29, 2013 at 06:00 AM

At a behind closed doors meeting at GDC, Epic Games unveiled a new demo that shows off all the new features being integrated in the high-powered Unreal Engine 4.

The Infiltrator demo may look like a cutscene, but Epic showed us that it was running in the engine in real-time by cutting back and forth between the wireframe and the finished product. All the UE4 bells and whistles are apparent in the demo, including high dynamic range reflections, realistic lighting, abundant particle effects, and impressive destructibility. Check out the sci-fi spectacle for yourself here:

This is the second Unreal Engine 4 video Epic has released, the first being the Elemental demo. For a deeper dive into what makes Epic's engine of the future tick, read our in-depth feature from last July.

Now, if only Epic would show us a brand new next-gen game running on UE4 instead of a tech demo. We're ready when you are!
