Creators May Get Darksiders IP Back

by Adam Biessener on Mar 28, 2013 at 07:17 AM

The ex-Vigil staff at Crytek USA may get a chance to keep working on the franchise they created in their former lives under the THQ banner. Crytek will be bidding on the Darksiders intellectual property when it goes up for sale.

Crytek USA head David Adams tweeted, “Going to bid on Darksiders IP. Put 7 years of heart and soul into that franchise, and I think it belongs at home with its creators.” Destructoid confirmed the company’s interest with Vigil co-founder and Crytek USA principal designer Ryan Stefanelli, who said, “When the Darksiders IP goes up for auction, Crytek will be bidding for it.”

Vigil and the Darksiders franchise looked for a while to be the most tragic loss in the fallout of THQ’s bankruptcy and dissolution, but it looks like there may be hope yet for some of those who made the games and the fans who would love to see more.
