The lights are on
According to an interview on videogamer.com with Battlefield 4's creative director, Lars Gustavsson, Battlefield 4 won't be coming to Wii U.
When asked if it was purely a business decision, or if was due to the technical limitations of Nintendo's console, Gustavsson said that it was more a matter or making sure the team could deliver a quality game without having to stretch themselves thin and spend time learning how to program on the Wii U.

It's too bad, I'd really like to see better use made of the screen. Squad based FPS games could make use of the map for waypoints and such, but I suppose They're trying to take away more of the CoD crowd instead of just focusing on their game being true to the franchise. I hope this doesn't become a trend because the system really does open up some different possibilities.
Something tells me that I would care a lot more about this, if I didn't hate the battlefield franchise.
Nintendo has sold less than 4 million Wii U's. If u look at the top selling FPS's on PS3/360 (Halo, CoD, etc), only about 10% of their install base buys those games. More than likely, the percentage of Wii U owners who would buy BF4 is much less than 10%. EA would be lucky to sell 100,000 copies of BF4 on the Wii U. The costs involved with developing another version just are not worth it. They would probably end up losing money. The truth is we are looking at the Gamecube part 2. I would be surprised if the Wii U can even match the Gamecube total lifetime sales of 20 Million.
i doubt you'll see this on xbox360/ps3.
Yeah, I'm done with hoping that any game isa ever coming to the Wii U. I bought mine for Nintendo game. My new Xbox or PS4 can cover those third party games.
what a surprise
Something about this seems off. I do believe that they showed trailer of BF on the WiiU if I'm remembering correctly. That statement just seems so lazily. "Gustavsson said that it was more a matter or making sure the team could deliver a quality game without having to stretch themselves thin and spend time learning how to program on the Wii U" or does this have to do with Nintendo not letting them do the integrate origin on their system? Because The WiiU can handle this game with no problems at all.
They don't wanna learn to program for the Wii U? Fine.
Yet another fatal blow to the wii u. The thing here is not about BF4 is about a lot of new games coming will not be available on wii u making then the wii u a console only for first party games and those are not coming soon. I am afraid the wii u is a sinking ship and I don't think amazing new titles like Zelda, Metroid or Mario will save the system.
