The lights are on
Firaxis, the developer behind last year's XCOM: Enemey Unknown has announced that the game is coming to iPhone and iPad.
According to Firaxis, the game will basically be a direct port of the console and PC version of the game. No word on pricing just yet, or an exact release date yet, but it should be available this summer.
It certainly seems like a game that will translate well to a touch-screen. Head here to check out our review of XCOM.

WooooW , is that even possible ?
Wow, that's... really really well timed. I got an iTunes card as a gift!
What da fuqqqq???
This says something about both how far mobile devices have come, and how overdue we are for another console generation lol
I might try this but I'm skeptical that it would play well on a phone. Tablet wouldn't be a problem but the screen size of an iphone is pretty small.
Wow, this would be one of the first of its kind. Congrats to Firaxis for stepping in the right direction.
Jeez that sounds awesome.
Sweet, I've been hoping this would happen. Now if we could just get FTL ported to tablets.
Throw in some more weapons and I'd be game for an iPad version.
Oh no. I finally want an iphone. ...crap.
I don't think it'll translate well to the small screen of an iPhone.
I'd like to see this on the Vita. Then again, whenever I played XCOM it was always for hrs. at a time so on the go would kind of break the immersion for me
