Steam Launches Early Access

by Kayla Herrera on Mar 20, 2013 at 09:46 AM

Valve has announced the Early Access section to Steam’s Library, which allow gamers to play pre-release games, and offer feedback.

Early Access allows the Steam community to play select titles during development before their release. This offers the community a chance to experience the development process firsthand. Their feedback becomes valuable in the development process. Games will update quickly and allow developers to respond directly to bug reports and feedback. Community members can also interact with each other and chat about the games.

"A lot of games are already operating as ongoing services that grow and evolve with the involvement of customers and the community," says Sean Pollman of Badland Studio.  "Greenlight helped us raise awareness for Kinetic Void, and now Steam Early Access will let us continue the development of our game while gathering crucial feedback, input and support from the steam Community."

Some titles that are already coming to Steam Early Access are Kinetic Void, Gear Up, and Arma 3. For a full list of upcoming Early Access titles, visit Steam’s Early Access website
