The lights are on
Tomb Raider's global brand director, Karl Stewart, confirmed on a Reddit AMA thread that there are currently no plans to create single-player focused DLC for the game.
Currently, the only DLC plans for Tomb Raider are for multiplayer additions. If you reserved the game before its release, you received a special extra tomb. Because of this, adding additional puzzle focused tombs to the game seemed like something that would be in the game's future, but it looks like that is not the case.

This makes no sense at all.
Who could be surprised behind this news? This game was everything that you needed and wanted out of the game. Am I mad that the game "seemed" shorter than it could have been, yes. Am I saddened about the "meh" multiplayer, nope cause I didn't buy for that reason. I had a sinking feeling that there wouldn't be a single player DLC because they ended up leaving the island. What else would she get into back on the mainland that would require the stealth, bow, shotgun, and other accessories?! The worst that would happen to her now would be getting a paper cut writing the story or a hand cramp shaking hands with people for surviving...
Still my current front-runner for game of the year. However, why would you throw away money, putting effort into the only portion of the product that no one cares about. (..and is pretty sub-standard, let's be honest.)
So the only DLC is for the throwaway mode no one cares about? Shrewd move, Berger.
"Give us more Tomb Raider multiplayer content!"...said no one.
I don't feel it needs DLC as the story wraps up very nicely, although a new game plus mode would have been nice if, like me, you don't rate the multiplayer and have amassed all the collectibles.
I can see though how a new game plus would not fit the survivalist tone of the game if your gear was maxed out right from the start. Maybe a deliberate decision then?
A good business decision, giving people what they don't want
Epic sadness. Considering how easy the "Challenge" tombs were, I was looking forward to ones that would really mess with me on the level that Beneath the Ashes, Lara's Shadow, and the Guardian of Light DLC did. Especially sad since I can't stand the multiplayer. Barely got through the few games I did for a few achievements and an attempt to give it a fair shake. It'll be a loooooong time before I get the hit level 60 achievement for that one.
That blows - I've played through three times now and I've only been hanging on to it for the chance at some decent DLC - extra optional tombs with more difficult puzzles would have been awesome. I guess this gets sold.
At least you can avoid a lot extra cost. Obviously they're saving up their material for a sequel.
I was expecting more tombs. I guess they want to make money off of multiplayer with updates and modes?
I don't get this. I haven't played Tomb Raider, but I have seen the multiplayer and it seemed generic. Besides, who would buy a game like this just for the multiplayer alone? People buy this for the campaign, why not improve that?
so xbox getting dlc first basically means nothing now.
I'm fine with this.
The single player part of this game is great.I was hoping for additional single player sections. Why are they doing this? It does need some improvement for online game play.. Maybe a few DLCs for that but let us have some more single play section ,this is where this game shines.
