I recently saw a video where a guy brought up the idea of Firefly getting its own game that continues the story. Seems like that would make a ton of money and be successful.

Wait, what?! Syfy cancelled Alphas so they could double down on this experiment? I'll withhold my judgements on Defiance until I see it for myself, but it'd be nice if they gave Alphas as much of a good faith investment as this show's getting.

These guys are already gearing up for a second season even though they don't even know if people are gonna like the show? Bad ratings = cancelled show. Wow. That takes major guts.....and a tad bit being naive.

Well, I've heard good things about the game, and the show has potential to be as good as Haven. It's just a matter of whether or not I'll be able to try it for free before buying, as I prefer to know what I'm getting into when it's an MMO. Okay, yeah, I prefer a demo always but that's beside the point.

Me getting spammed with Ads for this thing here on GI and on Youtube has killed any chance this show had of me watching it. Literally the exact same ad for this show appeared on every video on this site for like a month.

Isn't that a bit early to learn from the mistakes?

Well, constant, annoying, boring ads completely killed any chances of me watching the show or playing the game. As much as I like the concept of a show/video game crossover, it needs to be handled better. Right now it looks to be no more than a generic sci-fi shooter.

I thought the idea of this game was that you could affect the tv show. Was i wrong?

I have a bad feeling about this.

So many trolls on this thread. I've never been spammed by ads for Defiance and it looks like a really good game. Devs and Alpha players compare gameplay to Borderlands 2 and Mass Effect. Maybe you should invest in a better pop-up blocker.

I don't like the look of this game. From the many, many ads I've seen of it, it just looks so...generic. Put it this way; if I hear good things about it, I'll give it a go. Until then, my money's staying in my tightly clenched fists.

Also, I've been noticing my comments have been getting deleted/removed. I really want to know why this is.
