The lights are on
Disney Infinity is now facing a two month delay and will not be released until late August.
The delay is due to the request of retailers so that the release is closer to the holiday season. Originally, the June release date was supposed to coincide with the release of the film Monster’s University.
“We could deliver in June if we wanted to,” says co-president John Pleasants. “Will a two-month timing change help us? Sure, of course. It gives us a little more time to add bells and whistles and make sure it really sings and pops.”
Disney Infinity will be launching in the US Aug. 18 and everywhere else Aug. 20 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, WiiU, and 3DS.

That's lame. I don't think a move from June to August will have any effect other than kids being bummed that they don't get to play this, sooner. Thanks Corporate America.
Why would the retailers care when the game gets released? It's going to sell like hotcakes regardless.
My care forest is burning down, now I can't give any.
The irony of the name and the delay together is tangible :P
I'm really looking forward to this game. I keep trying to tell my friends about it, but I can't really find a way to make it sound fun.
"Do you like Disney? Do you like Minecraft? Then you'll prolly like this," is about the best I can come up with
Well, this sucks for the people who really want this game.
I'm okay with this delay. It gives me more time to pocket some extra cash.
Eh, fans will only have the $$$ sucked out of them a little later, then.
God, Mater has such a sh*t-eating grin in that picture up there.
When a Wreck It Ralph playset gets in, I'll probably check it out. As for the "starting trio" of "sort of cool" The Incredibles, unbelievably played-out Pirates of the Caribbean, and stupid Monsters University. Which doesn't even make sense now that it's been delayed. It doesn't tie into the movie at all. What if people don't really care about the movie? It's not going to be much of a selling point 3 months later.
I sincerely doubt their ability to expand this game though, since they're falling so hard on action figures. They CAN'T depend on DLC to do so. Kids expect an action figure to bring stuff into the game IMMEDIATELY, which means DLC is not going to work. All content has to ship on the disc. Which means, most likely, they'll pump out annual "sequels" featuring 3-4 different Disney Worlds, and hopefully all the new ones will accept the previous years' figures. It's gonna be an ugly, profitable business model.
But this first game? Pretty lame-looking so far. Nowhere near the best Disney/Pixar properties on offer.
Forgive me if I don't drown in my own disappointment to delay giving Disney more of my money.
Watch and see if they still find a way to mess the launch up
Cool. Glad they are taking the time to make it better, not that I'm ever going to play this.
while it is sad it got delayed it still copies skylanders at least i have 1 wii game to look forward to
