by Ben Reeves on Mar 13, 2013 at 01:47 PM

A federal jury recently found Nintendo guilty of infringing on Tomita Technologies' 3D display patent, and has awarded Tomita $30.2 million in damages. You know who's buying the drinks tonight.

We first reported on this lawsuit back in July of 2011. When Tomita first initiated the suit because the company held U.S. Patent No. 7,417,664 which related to “displaying stereoscopic images on-screen for viewing with the naked eye, i.e., without utilizing glasses or other devices.” The patent was filed in 2003 and awarded in 2008.

According to Reuters, a federal jury in New York found that Nintendo had infringed on this patent and the court ordered Nintendo to pay $30.2 million in damages. Looks like another case solved!
