The lights are on
Street Fighter X Mega Man has surpassed the one million downloads mark, and the third Mega Man game is headed to the 3DS' Virtual Console.
Capcom actually believes that Street Fighter X Mega Man has actually been downloaded more than one million times, when you factor in the fact that the game is free, so anyone could post it anywhere they please for download. Capcom can't track those extra downloads, but for the ones it can track, the game has been downloaded more than one million times.
As far as Mega Man 3 goes, you will be able to download it for your 3DS on March 14. Capcom is promising the sequels 4, 5, and 6 during each subsequent month. Capcom also says that by the time Mega Man 6 releases in June, digital versions of the soundtracks for each game will be available for purchase on the Capcom Unity website.

Yes, keep releasing the same Mega Man games on everything and by the time you're done, the next generation of handhelds and consoles will be out and you can re-release them all over again!
Come on Capcom! Release another O.G. Mega Man or Mega Man X! Enough with this crap. [by "crap" i mean Capcom's business plans, and not the MM series.]
This is cool for people that have never been able to play classic Megaman. I'd still like to see something new from Capcom too.
Sounds good to me. Hopefully this will give them ideas to make new megaman games in a meaningful way.
Thats awesome, hopefully this sparks new games for the Mega man universe
I think they should make an old school Mega Man X game. If you can go back and create new 8-bit entries, go back and make a new 16-bit entry. That would be fantastic, and finish the X storyline
I've played the sh** out of MM2 and MM3 before, so I'm waiting for the other 3. Especially Mega Man 6, which was really interesting when I played it on Mega Man Anniversary Collection. They really added some cool stuff to the formula, like branching paths through levels and the cool Rush armors. No... "armours"; I'm feeling British at the moment :) Also, those Robot Masters were from a contest in Japan where they had fans submit Robot Master designs, and that's cool. I recall a similar contest in Nintendo Power at the time, but the prize wasn't as good.
Mega Man 3 is the best game in the series though, with MM2 right next to it. So this is still great. Any fool who hasn't played them yet (don't you dare call yourself a "hardcore gamers" then!) would be well advised to do so.
But I'm looking forward to the less well known MM games. They only released the first Game Boy one on the 3DS Virtual Console; that's lame. Mega Man 6 on the GB did some cool, unique stuff too - like brought in Robot Masters based on the Roman gods, and gave you the... Mega Fist (?) powerup because the new enemies were more resilient to the Buster Cannon. Also, somewhere along the line, they added Tango. Then of course, you have Mega Man 9 and 10, who added in Protoman and Bass as playable characters. And Mega Man Powered Up that added Roll too, as well as the ability to play as any Robot Master you defeated with just your Buster Cannon (and the level creation/sharing stuff). Capcom REALLY needs to revisit those more interesting Mega Man games, instead of just sticking to the classics.
And you know, make a NEW one. Figure out how to do it in 3D already, guys!
I hear the robot in the picture screaming: "AAAAAH! MY BALLS!"
I need to get a 3DS soon...
