The lights are on
A father who plays classic games with his daughter decided to take matters into his own hands when she asked if Pauline, the perpetual princess in distress, was a playable character.
You can check out the video below, which has some details about the process in the video's description:
"My three year old daughter and I play a lot of old games together. Her favorite is Donkey Kong. Two days ago, she asked me if she could play as the girl and save Mario. She's played as Peach in Super Mario Bros. 2 and naturally just assumed she could do the same in Donkey Kong. I told her we couldn't in that particular Mario game, she seemed really bummed out by that. So what else am I supposed to do? Now I'm up at midnight hacking the ROM, replacing Mario with Pauline."

This is pretty cool.
Good guy is good guy.
Sweet. What a great dad. Creative too.
This is pretty awesome!
Kudos to the dad that's a really neat thing to do for his daughter.
DK'S protecting Mario. Pauline went batshit after she found out about Peach,so she started jumping over and killing everything in sight. After the end, she murdered Mario.
Still the best mod from an old NES game is the ability to shoot the dog in Duck Hunt.
Now that's some pretty cool voodoo.
this isn't good parenting people its just being an awesome dad
this stuff is so cool
That is so sweet! this guy knows how to parent!
Aww, that's cute :3
That's awesome. You have to at least tip your hat for a father who will do that for his daughter.
This is cool. :)
