EA Not Accepting Refunds For SimCity Games Purchased Digitally

Since SimCity's rocky release, the game has suffered awful server-related connectivity issues, which EA has tried to remedy by removing certain gameplay mechanics. The plot thickens with the news that EA is only refunding physical copies of the game purchased through its Origin store, not digital copies.

EA's refusal to refund digital copies of the game falls in line with the company's past practices, but confusion started with a tweet from EA's community manager. According to Ars Technica, Tuesday's tweet said, "[i]f you regrettably feel that we let you down, you can of course request a refund for your order... though we're currently still in the process of resolving this issue."

The tweet was later altered to say "please review our refund policy here."

Amazon also holds a similar stance as EA regarding digital refunds, but according to the aforementioned Ars Technica article one customer support employee made an exception.
