Fourth Multiplayer Mode Announced For God Of War: Ascension

by Kayla Herrera on Mar 06, 2013 at 09:10 AM

Santa Monica Studio is announcing the fourth multiplayer mode for God Of War: Ascension, Trial of the Gods, along with the reveal of the next God allegiance, Poseidon.

Trial of the Gods is the first two-player, co-op time trial mode where you and a friend work together to fight off waves of mythological enemies. Such enemies include Satyrs, Cerberuses, Cyclopes, Gorgons, Juggernauts and more. With every one of these enemies defeated, you and your friend can win time back to fight on.

The following maps will be available for Trail of the Gods:  Desert of Lost Souls, Forum of Hercules, and Rotunda of Olympus with more to come.

“With Trial of the Gods, we wanted to help bridge the single player and multiplayer experience, giving players a chance to work on their skill-set and gain valuable experience points with a friend, before jumping into the competitive arena,” says level designer Andrew Chrysafidis on the PlayStation Blog. “Playing Trial of the Gods is also a great way to grind some extra experience between competitive games, test newly acquired weapons and abilities, or even try a new allegiance.”

If you simply do not want to play multiplayer, Trial of the Gods is also available for single-player too. To get more information on pledging your allegiance to Poseiden, check out his profile on the God of War website. If you pre-order God of War: Ascension, you can get access to King Leonidas from “300” and receive the Mythological Heroes Pack with Perseus, Orion, Odysseus, and Achilles.
