Mojang is at it again with the announcement that Minecraft may be expanding to one or both of the current PlayStation systems.

Developer Mojang had been locked into an exclusivity contract with Xbox, but Mojang’s Jens Bergensten, Lead Designer of Minecraft, says that once the contract is up, avenues will be explored for expansion to PlayStation platforms. He also adds that the possibility of a Wii U expansion is “very unlikely.”

Great, everyone should experience this game! Although it would be really smart of Microsoft to spend a little more $$ to secure them all to themselves.. considering it's always 2nd place only behind black ops 2 on the xbox live activity.

Frankly, the kind of game that Minecraft is would be perfect for Nintendo audiences. As a PS fan, I'm happy that they are thinking about moving it over to Sony, but the Wii U would be just as good if not better. Can't wait to experience what this game is like.

Come on, it'd be great on the Wii U. You could use the GamePad to manage your inventory and swap screens to place blocks.
That's the first thing that comes to mind and it automatically adds to the experience.
I'm sure if the devs tried, they could come up with something better. You're pretty much obligated to put Minecraft on the Wii U.

Now when you say "both of the current Playstation systems" do you mean the PS2 or the PS4? Because one was officially announced "dead" not too long ago (I type while playing Radiata Stories on my PS2 which is right next to my PS3), and the other isn't due out for another 9 months, AND we haven't even seen it yet. So please, define "current." Because I actually would be pretty excited to get Minecraft super cheap for the PS2 where I don't have to deal with certain people.
