The lights are on
The World of Warcraft film has since left the hands of Spider-Man and Evil Dead director Sam Raimi, and into the capable hands of Moon director Duncan Jones. In a recent interview, Raimi explained why his planned version of the film fell apart.
It all comes down to timing, and a lack of Blizzard approval on the script Raimi wanted to turn into a film. Raimi and his writer Robert Rodat produced a script, but Blizzard didn't like it, and while Rodat began work on another script , Blizzard decided to move on. Raimi spoke about his experience working with Blizzard at Vulture.com. Raimi seems understandably disappointed that he and Rodat began work on a second script when Blizzard was never fully on board with their story, but otherwise he doesn't seem too sour about his experience with the famed developer.

I don't get why they don't just make a full CGI movie. They have some of the best CGI in the industry so why not use that talent and style to make a good movie that they have full control of?
You can't tell me that don't have the money to hire in some help to get it done. Live action for a movie on this source material is just stupid imo.
wow i would like to see some news on here every now and then FFS same crap different day.

This reminds me: I need to go back and watch the South Park ep of "Make Love, Not Warcraft". So. Dam. Funny.
I honestly can't see how they could make a decent 2 hour movie, considering how deep WoWs lore and characters are. Plus, each race has their own story, and if a movie was made, it would probably focus just on the human and orcs, and making all the other races just extras. If they truly wanted to make a good script for the movie, give it to a hardcore fan/guild of the game. No joke. They could come up with an amazing movie. But more than likely they'll just give it to some yahoo who doesn't know anything about WoW except what he's read on Wikipedia. And thus, another failed video game movie adaption will have been born.
Well I think I see one huge mistake made. They tried to make a videogame movie.
Make love, not Warcraft.
You could believe this article filled with Sam Raimi's lies or you could believe the truth: Blizzard watched Spiderman 3.
