The lights are on
Eidos Montreal has been working for years to reboot the classic

in issue 240 of Game Informer Magazine.
Our April cover story is a world-exclusive look at this next-generation stealth title. Series hero Garrett returns to the
Gothic, industrial metropolis known simply as the City to steal any and
everything that will make him richer. Unfortunately, the City is broiling with social tension as it is ravaged by a plague and lorded over by a political tyrant known as the Baron. In order to survive his adventures, Garrett will have to pay attention to his environment and make use of the may possible paths through each of the game's levels.
Square Enix plans to release Thief for PS4 and PC sometime in 2014, but the game is also planned for other next-gen consoles. Check out our coverage trailer for a taste of all the

Was not expecting this, at all, but I have to say...these are good news. I never played a Thief game but I've heard a lot about the series, recently due to Dishonored and all of that, so I'm definitely curious about it.
So thief was only a pc title? The old one I mean
The Plague and Political Tyrant is WAY too close to Dishonored. I know Dishonored is based off of Thief and Deus Ex, but the plot reminds me too much of Dishonored, heck the previous Thiefs didn't have this plot, so why does it have to be so similar?
This cover reveal makes me so happy. I love the Thief series. Such fantastic news!
.....sweet mother of god.
Looks pretty awesome!
Oh it had better be Thief. The first two games were amazing and the third was alright but it was still Thief. This has been a long time coming, so the expectation is really high. I remember reading an article in Game Informer about Thief 4 supposedly taking place in modern times, but the project got scrapped. As long as they keep the core of the original, that is stealth in lighting and sound while keeping combat to a minimum, then I believe this will be a great experience. Should they stray into the realm of the ridiculous, like boss fights, extended sessions of CQC, and freeruning, then I'll be far, far beyond disappointed. Take hints from Dishonored and Assassin's Creed, but do not emulate them.
This was an excellent start to my morning ^.^ I've always wanted to try Thief. Here's to hoping these games are as good as I've heard!
As a fellow person named Garrett, I am extremely excited to get back into this. It really brings the game to that next level of immersion when your name is used! XD
Yes, yes, YES!!! Finally some news!!!
Wow, I remember the original game I played on the PC way back in the day, was pretty fun.
Sweet! I did not expect this. I really enjoyed playing the games and I'm so looking forward to this one. Great choice, GI.
Wooooo! I remember playing Thief all the time as a kid. This should be fantastic.
Dear god this made my day. Freakin' love games like this.
Also, love how they say, "Teef."
"You are dee Master Teef."
