The lights are on
Tecmo Koei's Canada branch is shutting down at the end of this month.
News of Tecmo Koei Canada's closure comes form the Financial Post, which spoke to an official from the company. The studio was responsible for mobile titles like Samurai Cats and My Monster Rancher, as well as a number of console titles like Warriors: Legends of Troy, Fatal Intertia, and the PSP versions of the Warriors Orochi titles.

always sad to see a studio close down. alot of sad days lately :/
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I luved these guys!!! I hope they just regroup with a new name!
Orochi's PSP titles were different than the console ones?
That scared me for a second.
Still quite sad but at least Tecmo Koei is general is still going strong.
Though the stupidity of making their new entry of Dynasty Warriors an exclusive is irritating.
Well that's sad :/ A lot of studios have been closing down lately :(
That's a shame, but they were mismanaged from the start. Put to work on Fatal Inertia when no one really cared about futuristic racers I mean (especially lackluster, very generic ones). It made more sense to have them make Warriors of Troy, but then again, Tecmo-Koei should know every country outside of Japan hates the "Warriors" games because they're really, really dumb and we have so many better options for melee action these days (like DmC, Bayonetta, God of War, Darksiders, etc.).
I'm certain these guys could've done something worthwhile if Tecmo-Koei weren't calling the shots. All they have is Team Ninja (who refuses to be taken seriously, and keeps - annoyingly - catering to their pervy fans) and Omega Force. And Omega Force... christ, I just hate you guys. All you do is pump out Warriors games! This is not the way to run a business. Any successful business knows you need to evolve. You must have variety; cater to many demographics. Not just put all your eggs in one basket. But that's what Omega Force has been doing for decades now, besides occasional original games like Winback or Trinity Souls. DO SOMETHING ELSE! Or, keep studios like Tecmo-Koei Canada around, and have them DO SOMETHING ELSE. Stop basing your entire business plan on the dumb Warriors' games, Tecmo! F***!
Oh, and btw, who did Tecmo Bowl Throwback then? It HAD to have been a western studio, but it wasn't Tecmo-Koei's Canada studio? That's weird. Again, mismanaged. Like Disney Interactive shutting down their racing studio (Black Rock) instead of letting them make the Cars 2 game and make some money. Just dumb.
Here's hoping these guys reform into a new developer.
I never playing those game before.. Never..
Are there still other Tecmo Koei studios? If so are they going to make more Monster Rancher games?
SAMURAI CATS!? Why have I not heard of this!? Must... search...
