The lights are on
Mass Effect has had its fair share of miniseries comic books, but for the first time, BioWare's narrative rich sci-fi universe is getting an ongoing series care of Dark Horse Comics.
The series will be called Mass Effect: Foundation, and will be written by Mac Walters. Walters started writing for the Mass Effect universe starting with Mass Effect 2, was the story lead for Mass Effect 3, and wrote four of the Mass Effect miniseries comic books.
The content of Foundation is still a bit of a mystery, but if the images above are any indication, it looks like it won't be following the exploits of Commander Sheppard, and will focus on the mysterious red-headed woman seen above.
ComicBookResources.com has an interview with Walters about the upcoming series.

Oh wow it seems to be all about humans! they are by far my favourite mass effect race. Glad to see humans are finally getting comics made about them, rather than Quarians Krogans or Drell or something even more commonly seen in a comic.
YES. This is an excellent step to broadening the Mass Effect universe.
awesome i like the ME comics
Mass Effect 3 ending aside, I have a tremendous apathy towards their writing now. The comics particularly have always been underwhelming. :/
Cool. I wanna read one.
Dark Horse ftw.
As much as I dislike Mac Walter's work on Mass Effect 3, I am excited for more ME universe. Hopefully, this lays the 'foundation' for the next game.
I hope the comics deal with the dirtier places and people in the Mass Effect universe. Spectres are great, and the Citadel is pretty, but I want know more about the scoundrels on Omega, or somewhere more scummy.
Sweet a new ME Comic book series!...wait...Mac the Hack is going to be writing it? Pfft hahahahahaha! Yeah I'll pass.
Could be decent!
Oh, I bet that talentless bum will RGB the hell out of that story too! See what I did there? ;)
Go Dark Horse
Oh Mass Effect 3. The game that actually got me sell my Xbox and give up on video games for a while, because yes it was that bad.
