The lights are on
Among a number of additions and updates to the franchise, Blizzard says Diablo III will not need to have a continuous connection to the internet for multiplayer on PS3 and PS4. The game will allow for online co-op and local co-op.
"You can have four people on the same screen - no split-screen, we just zoom the camera out. Or if you're offline," says production director John Hight.
Hight mentions a new evasion capability that can be used to dodge enemies and no longer do players need to click and move. With the ease of an analog stick, movement will be smoother, which heightens the action.
Blizzard will be showcasing the console version of Diablo III at Pax East 2013, which will include live, hands-on gameplay. You can watch the full interview here.
Way to screw over your PC audience, Blizz. Good job.
Of course, Activision. Too late to hide what you are. What you made Blizzard.
Way to alienate the PC crowd
Ha, Blizzard announces that as if they had a choice. Neither Sony, nor MS (if MS had gotten the deal) would have allowed them to require DRM.
Good, I always love to have this ability!
I wonder how much it'll be
I'll probably get this than. The only thing that turned me off to the PC version was the "always online" decision. I wonder if Microsoft will make the same mistake???
So, what happened to the "Always-online isn't DRM, it's to create a more connected service + community" BS they think they managed to feed the PC gamers?
Thanks blizzard, I already basically stopped playing diablo 3 and now your saying you can play offline on consoles...great, waste of $60
It's a start I guess...
