The lights are on
Vice President of Sony Worldwide Studios Europe, Michael Denny, confirmed with PlayStation Magazine that motion-sensing features are going to be possible with the new Dualshock 4, but it will not be a full Move controller.
“So it’s not a Move controller because the Move controller is different and will be compatible with PlayStation 4 and the new camera,” Denny said. The new PS4 controller also features a light bar on the front with unconfirmed specifications of its precise use, but Denny went into detail about the use of the light bar on the Dualshock 4. “The feature you’re talking about is the light bar and how that may interact with the camera. Obviously the new 3D stereo camera and HD feed [will] be a lot better with AR aspects, and it can track the light source clearly in 3D so there are going to be features possible in a motion sense there. And obviously the DualShock 4 has improved SixAxis motion sensing so motion gaming is possible with the new controller.”
The minimal amount of motion possible with the Dualshock 4 will be carried out in a different way than a full Move controller. “The Move controller is more free in design to do more motion," Denny said, adding that the best way to look at the new Dualshock 4 is to take it as something with various opportunities for advancement rather than another separate Move controller.
no, you think so?
Maybe some games might use this...
Does this mean most games will have some sort of motion involved? I don't want bad mini games built around motion controls in "real games" for lack of a better word
Still need a lot of convincing to even like this controller meh : /
Hmmmmmm...... Humina HuminaHumina...Hmmmmmmm... Ok then.
Just make a controller that works and we'll be fine....ppl hate gyro controls for the most part. I just hope they don't shove motion stuff down your throat like last gen.
People who really get into their games tend to move a lot, like leaning with the controller during a racing game while doing a turn. This could be very handy for making these sorts of motions effect gameplay.
I just hope developers use it this time. I never get the chance to use the PS3 controller's SixAxis. Anyway, the controller looks amazing.
Hahhahahaha. Alright, Sony. I hear you.
So they will use AR to turn my controller into something else in game. Neat
Journey will be easier to move the camera!
Well I kinda guessed it wasn't a Move controller >.>
Now that's something.
will everyone please stop with the motion gaming please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i don't want motion controls if i have a controller...
