Report: PSN Games & Other PS3 Data Won't Transfer To PS4

Last night Sony revealed that PlayStation 3 games won't be compatible with the PlayStation 4, and now comes news that neither will your existing PSN titles.

Engadget has spoken to Shuhei Yoshida, Sony's Worldwide Studios president, who told them that neither PSN nor PS3 game saves will be able to make the jump to the new console.

During the press conference, Gaikai's David Perry said that it and Sony would like to bring multiple generations of PlayStation games to the PS4 via the cloud at some point during the PS4's lifecycle.

Wait? so you mean if a bought a game on PSN, lets say Journey, it will only work on my Ps3? I hope that it wont be on the Ps4 store then, because if i have to buy it again this soon it would really be a *** move. I hope they will have some kind of thing worked out, or maybe the rage of us will be enough to change their mind!

Thats such a bummer. I would like to be able to prove I purchased a product for PS3 and then stream it off the cloud on PS4. But I am sure they wont have a way to do it. What a bummer.

I'll believe it when I see more sources that don't all revolve around Engadget. When Sony comes out and says it, I'll believe it.

I planned on keeping my PS3 anyways, just like I kept my PS2; however, it would be nice if game saves transferred, that might get me to buy a PS4 earlier.
