Oddworld Developer Just Add Water Working On PlayStation 4 Game

The company behind the HD remakes of Stranger's Wrath and Munch's Oddysee has confirmed that it has signed on to develop games for PlayStation 4.

In a blog post on the Just Add Water website, a company representative wrote:

"By now you'll have eagerly lapped up all the information from the Sony PlayStation announcement. You'll have seen our name in the list of confirmed developers. We're delighted to finally be able to tell you that JAW are developing for the Sony PlayStation 4. We can't talk about what we're working on just yet. Just be assured it'll be worth the wait."

Just Add Water has previously said that it is working on two upcoming projects in the Oddworld universe, the strategy game Hand of Odd and a remake of Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee. It's not known whether those projects are bound for PlayStation 4, but we would not be surprised to see them make an appearance on Sony's new console.

I played the demo for Munch's Odyssee HD. God that controlled horribly. No wonder it had such a mediocre reception back in the Xbox1 days. Even then, it wasn't acceptable. It's so stilted and mechanical versus literally every other 3D platformer of note ever made. Maybe compared to Bubsy 3D or Rascal it compares favorably, but that's no excuse. My point is, their stock has fallen in my eyes. They really should've fixed the sh** out of that game before bothering with the port. In fact, they should've just moved everything over to the Stranger's Wrath engine, get it running like a dream. This is interesting news. But I definitely care way less now than perhaps I might've before I played Munch HD...
