The lights are on
The rumors were true: The next-generation PlayStation
console will ship with a Kinect-style stereo camera peripheral and a controller
with a sensor built in.
During Sony's PlayStation 4 event in New York, legendary
developer and lead PS4 engineer Mark Cerny detailed some of the
functionality of the new PlayStation controller. According to Cerny, the PS4
will ship with a stereo camera peripheral that recall's Microsoft's Kinect. It
works with the PlayStation controller, which features a sensor on the back
which can be sensed by the camera array.
We'll update this story if there is further information released during the
rest of the conference.
