The rumors were true: The next-generation PlayStation console will ship with a Kinect-style stereo camera peripheral and a controller with a sensor built in.

During Sony's PlayStation 4 event in New York, legendary developer and lead PS4 engineer Mark Cerny detailed some of the functionality of the new PlayStation controller. According to Cerny, the PS4 will ship with a stereo camera peripheral that recall's Microsoft's Kinect. It works with the PlayStation controller, which features a sensor on the back which can be sensed by the camera array.
