Devil May Cry's Vergil's Downfall DLC Gets A Release Date

Along with a title update, Bloody Palace Mode, and the option to buy all of Devil May Cry's pre-order weapon variants, today Capcom also announced the release dates for Vergil's Downfall DLC.

The title update and the Bloody Palace Mode (which you can see in the trailer below) are free and available to download immediately. The weapon variants will cost some money, but they haven't been available before today.

As far as Vergil's Downfall goes, it will be available on March 5 for PlayStation 3 and March 6 for Xbox 360. You can read Tim Turi's preview of the DLC by heading here.

  • Love this game! I cant wait for the dlc! I dont like the white hair though!

  • I read this a billion times over, you're saying Vergil is free but the weapons for him cost money? I don't get it and I feel like I'm not reading this right.
  • Looks fun.

  • I thought it releases on the 26th?

  • O.O oh my god they changed it back to the old style system where it goes down a level if you take too long!

It's such a great to have it in Bloody Palace mode only. Because there's always going to be enemies around..THE LOGIC!
  • Alright...cool.

  • First gotta say the eff thought it was this month not March, but whatever least it's coming out worth the wait, Vergil time : D

  • Hell yeah! I've been waiting for this since they announced it

  • Removing features from previous games and adding them in as DLC? That's the Capcom I know
  • I'm not seeing anyone explaining this, so i will. Bloody Palace is free, why they did not include it on disc i will never know, but it will cost you $0 to download. No need to complain about it as dlc. The weapon variants are only weapon skins. They add nothing new to the experience, only different looking weapons that have the same function without the skins. There is no need to buy these skins to enhance the experience, so the average DMC fan is missing out on nothing. The Virgil dlc contains completely new levels, and a new playable character. Discussing whether or not we should pay for this is debatable, but for anyone who pre-ordered, it comes free to them. So for example, i pre-ordered the game, so i will not pay any more money than the original cost for the game. Bloody palace and Virgil dlc come free to me. Basically, all of this is a pre-order bonus rolling out over time.
  • Odd that a lot of Capcom's promotional stuff  for the game still lists the Vergil DLC as coming in February but whatevs, I'm still pumped for it.

  • :I

  • Nice.

  • I'm a little excited to play as Vergil in the new DmC DLC.

  • I can't believe they're charging money for this trash.

And the DLC too. Why charge for that?

  • Ok im happy there is a release date, but i thought it was coming out the end of February

  • The demo was cool but I didn't end up buying the game.

  • i don't like the fact that a pre-order bonus is being pushed back when it was suppose to be this month but oh well i hope achievements come with it

  • Will any/all of this be coming to the PC as well?
