North Korea Is At It Again With More Stolen Video Game Assets For Propaganda Videos

North Korea recently stole footage from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 to place in one of its government propaganda videos, and now it has taken music from The Elder Scrolls for a new video.

Unfortunately, the video has already been blocked, so I wasn't able to audibly confirm if the music actually appears, but ZeniMax claiming copyright on the video seems like a good identifier. Before it was blocked, Global Post reported that the video apparently featured a warning for our President which involved him getting set on fire, and it was all set to Elder Scroll's stirring score.

Thanks to Aaron Summers for the news tip!

  • Awwwhhhhh... This is just... :( *shakes head slowly and sadly then goes back to play Fire Emblem 3D* I had to say something happy because this article is just sad.
  • I saw it before it was taken down. Yes, it was TESIV: Oblivion theme.

  • Well....that's a thing. The idea that North Korea would look to WESTERN RPGs other than JRPGS blows my mind.
  • Hey I say don't believe everything you hear or see.Only thing you can do is research and based on what you find, determine whether what you see is true for fabricated. This kind of propaganda is used in EVERY nation, just that some goverments go about it in different ways.
  • This is actually pretty freaky to me :(
  • It was the theme from Oblivion x] anyone interested in seeing it, go here http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=bae_1361321866
  • I love how Activision doesn't give a ***. Anyway can't get what's up with NK, that they imagined using content from video games, as a good idea.

  • Nuke spell in Skyrim would be epic...

  • *sigh* okay.......... AMERICA!!!!!
  • wow zenimax moved fast on this.

  • Well to be fair thats what a lot of whinyass parents would say, videogames promote murder, stealing, and sexual situations, they are what kids turn into criminals, its definately not all the drugs and porn they acess on the internet, or the possibility that their parents fight each other every day or even did drugs themselves. Yes clearly videogames are to blame for all the wrong in the universe. Need I say more or I shall I write a damn Thesis paper? Using videogames for a hate America propaganda os about as much to worry about as a kid riding his bike without a helmet.
  • I feel good that I just got ZeniMax to file a copyright claim against the North Korean government.  In your faces!

  • lol I know it's not good to laugh because North Korea is ran by a bunch of crazies, but why would they use a theme from Oblivion? I mean does North Korea not have any cool music to burn stuff to? Maybe they think Oblivion is like a brand new game over here or something.

  • Kim Jong Un is Dragonborn? I did not see that coming... Well after seeing this I guess it does makes sense.

  • Tes Iv? Thank god...I was worried they had learned dragon shouts

  • We need to send in Team America, already.
  • NOBODY F#$KS WITH ZENIMAX! Has Korea learned nothing from Interplay and Notch!

That said wouldn't it be in Zenimax's best interest (ominous music swells), to foment hostilities between the west and Kim Jon Un, in order to bring about the apocalypse fortold in Fallout?

I Bring Doom to you All!

  • The video looked like it was made with 1980s cg, and edited by a five year old.
