Sony Continues Its Look Back By Examining Its Games

Sony has released a number of video pieces examining the legacies of its hardware, which is great, but none of that matters without the games.

In its latest video, Sony looks at its game library highlighting titles like Journey, Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, Flower, and the Unfinished Swan.

Check out the video below, and start getting excited about tomorrow's announcement. We're still not sure what's happening, but we can't wait to find out.

  • There are so many other different and experimental games that weren't brought up in the short video. They take chances on the different, which is why I love them. ^_^
  • With all these ps4 posts, course GIO is excited lol xD

  • Sony has so many good exclusives. Games like Crash 1-3, Crash Team Racing, Spyro 1-3, Jak 1-3, and Ratchet shaped my childhood. Long live play!
  • If this build up isnt for a PS4 annoucment then this will be an epic fail for the ages of gamming. -_-
  • ah GT... brings back memories.

  • Cool.

  • Many exclusives from sony gave me the happiest memories of my childhood. Long Live Play!

  • Since half of this video was about Gran Turismo i bet we will see an announcement for it tomorrow.
  • The games. That's why I love them :)

  • The system was worth it for me for Killzone and Journey alone. Everything else was just gravy. Looking forward to the next generation.
  • Shout out to Wonderbook!
  • You could all win the green ball, but no one wants to teach seaweed how to cry.
  • I was a fan of the psone and ps2 but not so much 3. Is there any reason to pick up a ps4 after sony lost exclusivity to mgs (well hanging in there), final fantasy, grand theft auto, dmc etc? I know the Socom franchise is still alive according to a sony rep but I like to know why I would be getting a PS4, kind of like why I would get a Nintendo console, to get Zelda or something.
  • Jeez, with all this retrospective you'd think Sony was announcing its retirement.
  • When it came to the PlayStation, it was always about the games, more games then I'm able to write down. We've gotten over the awkward HD-NEXT-GEN-PC-LIKENESS of this current generation (in terms of developing something that was so radically different from the previous machine) so I only wish Sony the best with their new console -- and if the current gen is anything to go by, they'll do just fine.

Just give me those damn exclusives. Gimme a reason to own ONE and not THE OTHER.

  • Who remembers Ridge Racer? RIIIIIIIIIIIIDGE RAAACER?!

  • So Gran Turismo was the start of the bad direction Sony games went, fascinating. I always thought it was just the general heap of sports themed games on the PS2. That's not to say Gran Turismo is a bad game, I just didn't find it very fun like a lot of other PS1 games. It would explain the dull tone PS exclusives now have. Hell it actually seems fitting we didn't get Last Guardian this gen; that game would have been too imaginative for the PS3.
  • I didn't really like Grand Turismo... or Ridge Racer
  • I'm so excited for tomorrow. Safe to say my life would be radically different without PlayStation and it's games.

And it's also kind of sad that a solid half of the racing games that come out still don't have a library of cars as large as the original Gran Turismo!
