The lights are on
Tomorrow, Sony will be making a big announcement that many speculate will include the company’s next console. New developments have been trickling out regarding the upcoming presentation, including something called PlayStation Cloud and pictures of the supposed new controller. Now an anonymous source tells Kotaku that the PlayStation 3 successor will also be controllable via your phone and have two models to choose from when it releases this November.
The source says that the models at the supposed November launch are priced at $429 and $529, which could change. They also claim that similarly to the Xbox 360s SmartGlass app, users will be able to use their phones to control the console, download games to the system, and chat with friends.

backwards compatible, please...or at least be able to still play all of the stuff i've bought from PSN
Can't wait to see what happens tomorrow. Make me a loyalist again, Sony. You can do it!
Surprised they are going with having such a steep launch price. Took them years to make a return on the Ps3. Still going to buy it. I'm always an early adopter to next gen systems.
you would think with the economy the way it is, that both models would try to come in at a slightly (or not so slightly) lower price point. of course, this is still rumor (for about 24 hours, anyway), so i will be tuning in with VERY attentive ears tomorrow at 3pm pacific time.
If these prices are accurate, I'm thirlled. The 599.99 I spent on my first PS3 was well worth it. So much so, that I went out and got two more for the other rooms in my home. I have no doubt that the PS4 will be an impressive system and cannot wait to get my hands on it.
My PS3 has been the center of my living room since I picked it up about two years ago. Overly high price not-withstanding, I hope a PS4 will do the same.
Great!!!!I would pay five hundred and twenty-nine US dollars as long the PS4 has good exclusives that run true 1080p at 60fps.
I wonder what the differences between the two would be for the price difference. Using the current generation as an example, the only things that I can imagine are wi-fi and hard drive space.
1. I cannot really believe that there would be version that does not have wi-fi. Wi-fi is much more prevalent now than it was when Xbox 360 launched.
2. While a larger hard drive on the more expensive model may make some sort of sense, it would (in theory) need to be a noticeable difference to warrant another Benjamin Franklin.
3. A third, and very unattractive option also occurs to me: Perhaps some semi-vital component to the console is behind the $100 dollar price wall. Although in complete honesty I have no idea what that could be. In retrospect, it seems funny that Microsoft came out with 360's that had no hard drive, or even 20 Gb hard drives. So who knows what the difference(s) is/are?
Well, luck for anyone getting the ps4, and if it's pricy what do you expect? It's a new system always expect the unexpected.
Holy crap! I hope the new xbox is about 100 dollars less. Im not paying 500 bucks for a console.
I rather hear it directly from Sony.....that would be all.
So I'm confused, I know Wii U has 60 FPS But are the PS4 graphics going to be better than the Wii U's?
$529 still seems a bit pricy. Hopefully the $429 model will be good enough.
I wonder what the odds are that we will have a clue to the price and release date by tomorrow at this time?
More rumors. And that is a lot of money. My wallet may hurt if this is true.
Thats alot of money! Lets hope its worth it, and I am sure it is.
