World’s Most Powerful Gaming GPU Costs $999

Next week NVIDIA releases the GeForce GTX Titan. The new graphics card is more powerful than any NVIDIA hardware before it.

Despite being far more powerful, it is designed with the same cooling system as its predecessor, the GTX 690, and a sports a polycarbonate window. The Titan has 6GB of GDDR5 memory and 384 bits of memory bandwidth. Group three of them in a SLI formation, and it surpasses the power of a pair of GTX 690’s. The graphics card is supposed to go on sale as early as next week for the hefty price tag of $999. Check out the official announcement video below, and keep your eyes on NVIDIA's website for more info.

  • I'm excited about this launch, not because I can afford this card. But because it is a sign of more powerful things to come! In a few years this tech will cost half as much!
I am dying for this console generation to be over because all this power is going to waste and the only way PC games are taxing the current hardware is by pumping up the anti-aliasing to insane levels, which means using the graphics processor to effectively double or quadruple or even 16x the resolution, as you can imagine this uses significantly more horsepower than anything else.

So all consoles need really is to render in native 1080P instead of up-scaling like the current systems do, yes your precious 360/PS3 DO NOT RENDER in full 1080. Anyways graphics hardware is cheap enough now that a 200$ card is enough to do any game with high settings in 1080P all the rest of the graphics power is used for upping the resolution even further.
  • wait... so is this the gtx780? or is that something else? or is this replacing the 780? im confused
  • Wish i was loaded. I would have the most awesome rig, but in reality im stuck with an average laptop.. :/
  • Just a beast of a thing.
  • Yes, but will it run Crysis 3 at max settings?
  • But will it run Crysis 3 on max?
  • "Group three of them in a SLI formation, and it surpasses the power of a pair of GTX 690’s." How is that supposed to impress me?
  • $999? Thats all? I'll take two >_<
  • Nah, my graphics card that can't support the first Star Wars: Jedi Knights is better.

  • So does this mean the 680's price will drop? I'd like to buy a second one to SLI.
  • i have a gtx 580 and wanted something that would keep me satisfied without having to sli for a couple years.... maybe after some benchmarks, I'll consider buying this beauty.
  • What is this I don't even

  • It is not more powerful than the GTX 690. Do some research before you post an article to a site like Game Informer.
  • Well. A GPU that costs the same as an entire computer. Makes perfect sense to all of us who can't even afford regular things like insurance and bills.
  • DAYUM! That's a hefty price though, for an average person anyway.

  • I want so badly, I love my card but it doesn't support DX11...
  • It's beautiful. ;_;

  • Pretty affordable...not

  • Yeah. I doubt that this is better than the ASUS Ares II.
  • too much for me
