The lights are on
John Romero, famed id Software developer who had an important hand in projects like Wolfenstein, Doom, and Quake, is cooking up something at Square Enix.
We have no idea what he is working on, but according to his official Facebook account, he's doing something at Square Enix. He posted a status update yesterday that read, "Now let's get a deal done," and tagged himself as being at Square Enix in California.
He hasn't been doing much of note in the world of game development in the last few years outside of mobile work, and some cancelled projects. We'll have to wait and see what comes from this new project.

John Romero and Square are going to make you their b*tch.
Or this is a recipe for double disaster.
As long as it isn't a Daikatana sequel or he promises that the game will make you it's b*tch, I think we're all good.
Hahaha that's chill.
Kingdom of Fantasy: Quaking Doom!!
Is he going to make us his b*tch.
Alright. Well, he's worked with Eidos before, so I'm guessing this is "Square Enix" so much as that it's actually Eidos. This has nothing to do with the Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest arm of the company in Japan. Now, what property could John Romero be working on that Eidos has? Hmmmm...
Please god, be Daikatana 2! :D
Daikatana 2: The Crystal Bears XI.5
Man, Square is really stepping it up these days.
Hopefully it turns out better than Daikatana.
I had lost my faith in Squenix, then I played Deus Ex: Human Revolution, which I liked even better than the original. Now with the possibility of Romero working for them, we could have something awesome.
