The lights are on
It's been a bad week for Gearbox and Sega. Aliens: Colonial Marines immediately became a laughingstock when it released on Tuesday, with critics and gamers alike reaming the title for its obvious quality issues. From the looks of Gearbox's message board, one of those issues may involve deleted game saves on Xbox 360.
Apparently, this bug is triggered when the Xbox 360's cache is cleared. Several players loaded up the game after doing this, only to find that their game saves were nowhere to be found. Others are claiming that the same happened to them without any cache activity.
Are any of you 360 players experiencing said issue? To add to that question...why the hell are you playing Aliens: Colonial Marines?

Good thing I did not buy this game and that if I did it would be for the PS3 or maybe my new laptop
Horrible game not even scary : /
It's actually a feature they built into the game. It's meant to confirm to you that you've wasted your time.
Way to rub salt in the wound Gearbox :(
game so bad, it is deleting itself...lmao
So glad I waited
I for one actually have fun with this game. It by no means meets the quality that I expected from what I saw in the E3 demo and has far more flaws than what should've been allowed, but I am honestly enjoying myself. Don't get me wrong, I'm furious that Gearbox let this happen to ACM, but I don't hate the game itself. I haven't run into any major glitches or screen tearing yet (I bought this on launch, mind you), and this is me playing on a 360 with the game installed. So far, the most obvious problem with this game to me, is the wonky AI. The graphics are also unacceptable for a modern release, but as a guy that still replays games like Quake 4 and Return to Castle Wolfenstein, I can easily look past appearances. That said, I still expect Gearbox to address these problems and release some sort of patch for this game.
I weep at what could have been, reserved the Collector's Edition, but when I saw the reviews, and 360 gameplay footage, I went to Gamestop, canceled my reservation, and got Ni No Kuni, and pute 42 to Bioshock Infinite!
Even the game itself doesn't want you playing it. Heyo!
Was going to pre order this game but was broke, never thought I'd say this but thank god for being broke!
Man... How broken is this game?
Wow, this game must be just awful. But knowing me, I'll still rent it eventually just to see how bad it is.
Yeah, my game-save for A:CM disappeared, too. Of course it was on purpose, that game blows. It went back to Gamestop within 24 hours of bringing it home.
"why the hell are you playing Aliens: Colonial Marines?"! haha!
Rented this game, and sadly took the time to beat it. While i came across a myriad of frustrating glitches i did not come across this one. Thankfully?
Wow. That just sucks.
I didn't get this because I currently am infatuated with Ni No Kuni and then I gotta start the new Sly Cooper and all the other games I still haven't played that are in my stack..
But, I can't help but just wonder... Because when I see the name Gearbox I automatically think of Borderlands... Yeah they're the publisher... But, one would think that they would know what they are doing because of the popular and positive Borderlands world...
I'm not the biggest Alien fan. I mean I've seen the movies before, but I won't be answering any questions for trivia. I was hoping this game turned out to be good. For the sole fact that Gearbox was behind it..
But, obviously it looks like this game isn't doing so good.
