Players Reporting Issues With Aliens: CM Deleting Saves

It's been a bad week for Gearbox and Sega. Aliens: Colonial Marines immediately became a laughingstock when it released on Tuesday, with critics and gamers alike reaming the title for its obvious quality issues. From the looks of Gearbox's message board, one of those issues may involve deleted game saves on Xbox 360.

Apparently, this bug is triggered when the Xbox 360's cache is cleared. Several players loaded up the game after doing this, only to find that their game saves were nowhere to be found. Others are claiming that the same happened to them without any cache activity.

Are any of you 360 players experiencing said issue? To add to that question...why the hell are you playing Aliens: Colonial Marines?

  • Glad I didn't buy this game...
  • Hey Dan, you guys played Cyberia, so...I wouldn't be asking why people are playing bad games. ;)
  • Something to make this game even better!

btw, PCs are better than current and next-gen consoles. :) Too bad most people are too retarded to know how to get a good computer for a nice price.

    1. I hate IGN

    2. I feel sorry for any of you that don't realize I'm not serious.

    3. Cube are you using a console to browse Gameinfomer? I thought so. PCs do everything a console does and so much more and the extra meat on your hardware makes those other activities so much better. You still seem very oblivious to all the really good PC exclusives like Total War, PlanetSide 2 and formerly The Witcher.

    4. It's hilarious how hard you guys rage when I insult your cheap "gaming" box.
  • This game might just be the blunder of the century. The screen tearing on the xbox/ps3 version made it look near unplayable
  • Dan, you're really hating on A:CM. I won't judge until I play it, though
  • I could only afford two games this month and DS3 was already a must have for me so I had to make a decesion between aliens:colonial Marines or Crysis 3. I now know what to get. I was trying to hold out hope for this game :(
  • People can like what ever games they want Dan, who died and made you Miyomoto?
  • Why is this game so bad
  • I think gamers should stop complaining about Colonial Marines deleting their saves and start complaining about playing Colonial Marines.
  • Not as bad as my level 50 Axton being deleted on Borderlands... Not to say it's a Gearbox thing, but it was bad.
  • I'm playing Aliens because Tim Turi taught me playing crappy horror games will get me more friends

  • I like the last line.

  • Wasn't there an issue with people losing progress on Borderlands 2, as well? What's going on over there at Gearbox?
  • and the hole just keeps getting deeper. It's such a huge black mark on Gearbox' record and it only keeps getting smeared wider and longer.
  • It's a sign telling you to stop playing it and trade it in. It would rather sabotage your save than allow you to waste anymore time with it. Admirable.
  • Seems a bit rude to have that "why the hell are you playing Aliens: Colonial Marines?" Then again, Dan is a complete moron and isn't known for being professional, just a jackass.
  • In my honest opinion the games you guys give bad reviews to i find to the better experience then the games you give the better reviews to. I don't know if the games you guys give the better reviews to are my cup of tea or not but i just don't tend to enjoy. I honestly think this a good game. Not the best game that has come out but certainty not the worse.
  • I wouldn't know since I wouldn't touch Aliens Colonial Marines with a 10 foot pole after reading and hearing about it.

  • Aliens are infecting your hard drives! Oh noes!!!
  • As if actually playing this game wasn't bad enough for those who pre-ordered.
