The lights are on
Update: Watch the video below to see the new game in action.
Series developer Camelot is at the helm of another Mario Golf title, this time for the 3DS.
Handheld links fans can get their hands on Mario Golf World Tour this summer.
The game promises to hit all the series' trademarks, from a roster of beloved Nintendo characters to both traditional and fantastical courses.

Definetly can't wait. Played the (censored ) out off the 64 version when I was younger.
Out of the things announced today this is definitely the one I'm most excited about
So many new 3DS games!!!!!!!!!!
Yay! I happy to see this series make a return.
Ah, I remember Toadstool Tour back in the day on Gamecube. Kinda made golf fun, but only almost, for me anyway. This is a great marketing move on Nintendo's part, regardless. 3DS owners are gonna go wild over this.
I have a Question. Did Camelot make mario tennis fo the gamecube too?
Mario Golf on Gamecube was incredible. It's definitely my favorite golf game because of the mix between realistic courses and the tougher fantastical ones. If this new one captures the magic of that game I'm sold.
Mario invades sports yet again.
Mario Tennis came out for 3DS and no one cared or noticed. People kept hounding them during previews - just read the comments for any of 'em - asking if the final Tennis game would feature the great RPG campaigns that Camelot's old handheld Nintendo sports' games had. Mario Golf and Tennis on the Game Boy Color and Advance featured full on RPG-style story modes, with original characters and tons of depth. It was PERFECT for a handheld game, which is why Mario Tennis 3D was such a let down.
There's nothing there! Just the Tennis game itself, which is only good for short matches. What's there to keep you playing for a long time? Where's the story to move through? The characters to challenge? The upgrades to get for your guy or gal? Give me something to work for and work through, Nintendo! This isn't a console game where me and buds can plug in some controllers and play some great multiplayer matches. This is a handheld game; the needs are different.
If Camelot is bringing another bare-bones Mario Sports game to the 3DS, count me out. If they've listened to the fans and aren't going to be lazy again, and this is going to feature an RPG mode proper, than I could not be more excited. Unfortunately it doesn't look like that's the case...
Nice new video though.
DO DA DAMN TING DS!
The Mario inspired courses have me intrigued. I've little interest in golfing as Mario, but let me golf in crazy courses like that Goomba one? Yeah, maybe.
Golf is always fun to me.
