Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex Shooter Coming Next Year

by Adam Biessener on Feb 14, 2013 at 06:58 AM

Free-to-play publisher Nexon is developing a first-person shooter based on the sci-fi anime TV series.

Nexon announced today that the game, titled Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, will be an FPS based on both full seasons of the show and the Solid State Society miniseries that takes place afterward. No further details were announced other than the inclusion of a co-op mode that "integrates artificial intelligence with the player."

Despite being one of the best anime/manga properties ever and a landmark in the science fiction genre, Ghost in the Shell has never been adapted to gaming in any but decidedly mediocre, uninteresting action titles. Maybe Nexon can turn that around with this project – it is, after all, based on the best anime TV series of all time.
