Gearbox Giving Out Borderlands 2 SHiFT Codes For Valentine's Day

Gearbox Software wants to give you something special to celebrate Valentine's Day... Borderlands 2 SHiFT codes, of course! What could be more romantic?

Gearbox took to social media via Twitter and Facebook to announce that tomorrow special codes will be distributed for the holiday. 

For those who don't know about SHiFT codes and how to redeem them, you can find out here. The codes give players Golden Keys to open special chests in Borderlands 2. Codes usually remain active for three hours once they're posted, so be sure to keep your eye on Gearbox's social media feeds. 

Isn't the most romantic day of the year and Borderlands 2 a great combination?

    As much as I would love this, I'm predicting the comments would be filled with lingering hatred for Gearbox over Aliens: CM.

    i dont find the reason for these codes anymore... unless they are a skin, i dont care! any gun i have is better then the guns in that chest. sadly

    Oh Gearbox! Can i have a code for better textures and story for my Alien game please? Perhaps a tad of atmosphere and AI if its not too much trouble? Thanks :)

    Honestly it would be great if these codes lasted longer.  It's like he posts them at the worst times and I'm never near my PC when he posts them so I can redeem them.

    This is the one thing that extremely sucks about buying games used D:... I save $40, sure, but I miss out on all of this type of stuff! Ehh, I get this isn't as awesome as getting all DLC and a map of Borderlands 1 for $20!

    could you imagine someone trading in Borderlands 2 so they could get Aliens:CM. I actually thought about doing it. Some shift codes will be nice, haven't had one in awhile.

    They should be giving out refunds to people who bought the piece of trash known as Aliens: Colonial Marines. Go watch the E3 demo and then actual gameplay footage of the retail release, and tell me this isn't the shadiest release in gaming since The War Z.

    Oh how cute, they're trying to cover up their tracks for Aliens by giving away shift codes. Their Valentines Day present to consumers should be more like taking back the crap game they falsely advertised.

    Do these codes do anything other than open the Golden Chest? Those weapons are useless now.
