The lights are on
If you haven't been on the internet for the last couple of days, you might have missed the note that Aliens: Colonial Marines is an awful game. Plenty of terrible games get released every year, but more attention has been drawn to Aliens because of the license and Gearbox's good reputation. In an attempt to explain the quality issues, a supposed Gearbox dev has taken to Reddit.
In the lengthy post, user throwawayacm claims to have worked on the game for a year and a half. He says that 85% of the game's campaign was outsourced to TimeGate Studios, and Gearbox's main priority was clearly on Borderlands 2. Check out the full post (linked above) to read about his other gripes with the troubled development of this disappointing project.

I don't want your excuses !!! I trusted you! And now I missed out on the horrer game of the year.
Hey, it happens to every dev. You get pushed to your limits and need help which is sometimes good, sometimes bad.
This is why I don't buy Gearbox games. Blame it on another developer even though your name was the main developer associated with the project. Who did all those dev diaries? Gearbox. Who made this piece of ****? Gearbox. ****ing morons.
I don think Gearbox should get a pass on this one whether they outsourced or not. They seem like a really hit or miss developer. They will release great games like the Bordrerlands 1 and 2, but then turn around and realeased total garbage like Aliens and Duke Nukem. No consistency. I want a developer that I can trust. And Pitchford needs to address this without making any exscuses since he has hyped this game up so much. I know it's his job to do that but he also had to take responsibility for games when they fail, especially as bad as Aliens did.
its still not an excuse to make a bad quality title, "oh lets just focus on borderlands and forget the other games" so what, take time, or hire more people to help make sure that games do not end up like that Duke Nukem game or Colonial Marines
