The PlayStation 3 exclusive is letting players check out several features of the new game for free.

Tecmo Koei sent along word today that a new demo for Dynasty Warriors 7 Empires is out now. The demo allows players to mess around in the new Edit Mode, in which one can craft a customized character from scratch, including weapon animations, facital features, special abilities, and outfits. In addition to getting to play some of the game early, the characters you create in the demo will be transferable to the final game when it releases on February 26.

Dynasty Warriors has been around a long, long time. Are you still playing? Will you pick up the new installment later this month?

Put so many hours into Dynasty Warriors 3 or 4 on the original xbox, I bought 7 but was really disappointed that it was the exact same thing which got me bored in about 15 min. no lie these games are dead to me.

I played 4 for quite a bit, because I liked all the different characters; took me till 6 to realize just how repetitive it is.

Dynasty Warriors 4/5 I played alot, 6/7 not so much, they are insanely repetitive but they're still a guilty pleasure of mine.

Even though all the games in the series are pretty much the same I have to admit I still play all of them. They're like a crazy foreign family I didn't know I had/wanted, and now they won't leave my garage.

What exactly is the difference between the standard DyWar games and the Empires spinoffs? I actually kinda liked the Strikeforce ones... I don't see why I would ever play a vanilla entry again. But I genuinely have no idea what makes the Empires editions of these games different.

Guess I should download this, huh?

Oh, and when are you going to make another one-on-one fighter-style Dynasty Warriors, Omega Force? Break up the series a bit and do another fighting game!
