Skyrim PS3 Patch Out Now

Bethesda has announced that PS3 owners can now download Skyrim's 1.8 patch, one day ahead of the long-awaited release of the game's Dragonborn DLC.

In addition to preparing your game for the new DLC, Update 1.8 also fixes a few bugs, as outlined on Bethesda's blog:

  • General memory and stability improvements
  • Fixed rare crash when using vampiric grip
  • Fixed issue where Arnleif and Sons Trading Company could become permanently locked
  • Fixed issue related to duplicate NPCs
  • Fixed rare issue where exterior door would not open properly

Dragonborn will be available tomorrow, February 12, followed by Hearthfire on February 19, and Dawnguard on February 26. All three DLC packs were released last year on Xbox 360.

    I'm glad you PS3 people can finally join the rest of us. It's a shame that it took them this long to get the game playable for you guys.

    Still no fix for the crash that happens whenever you enter water? sigh...I thought Betheseda was better than this, sure you can fix it by deleting game data, but it should still be fixed so that it wouldn't happen anyway.

    This is good to know. I was worried the DLC wouldn't come out for the PS3. Still waiting for the GOTY edition, but it's good to know all of the content will be there if it ever comes out.

    Awesome. I've been having issues with multiple Louis Letreshes outside Whiterun. Hopefully this will fix that.
