Mass Effect-Themed Risk Coming This Fall

BioWare's Mass Effect Facebook page has been updated with a prototype picture of Risk: Mass Effect, a new board game from USAopoly. The set is due out in the fall. No game details have been released at this point, but I guessing the piece colors won't be limited to just blue, red, and green.

USAopoly is also releasing board game adaptations of numerous other video game product, including Trivial Pursuit: World of Warcraft, Risk: Plants vs. Zombies, Yahtzee: Pac-Man, and Jenga: Space Invaders. The company's back catalog is loaded with game properties. You can pick up Risk: Starcraft, Risk: Metal Gear Solid, Risk: Halo, Risk: Halo Wars, Monopoly: Sonic the Hedgehog, Monopoly: World of Warcraft, Checkers: Super Mario, and Monopoly: Street Fighter right now.

I would actually like to get all of the video game versions of Risk just to feel like I'm conquering each of the worlds. I now control all of the zone in the Green Hill Zone AND the Horsehead Nebula! >:D

I will be purchasing this. Risk is my favorite board game, and Mass Effect is my favorite video game of all time. It's like reeses peanut butter cups. So awesome!

That right there is awesomely hilarious.

Anyhow, I love the ME universe, so getting to battle over and conquer the worlds/galaxy clusters of it could be pretty fun. I've always enjoyed Risk, too; I just haven't had the time to crack it open for a while. This may be the excuse to do so.

This is cool, but not really surprising at all, given how many franchises have themes in any number of board and tabletop games. Halo and Transformers Risk, Star Trek Settlers of Cataan, Spongebob Operation, Nintendo Monopoly, etc.

I already have Transformers Risk and Nintendo Monopoly.

So, when will the Mass Effect fanboys launch another hate-fueled campaign attempting to force censorship of the product?
