The lights are on
A presumed glitch that allows players to gather infinite resources in Dead Space 3, is actually not a glitch at all, according to developer Visceral Games.
The "glitch" was discovered by GameFront (which you can see below), and it allows you to completely bypass the option to purchase resources with real money, if you so desire, by farming one random resource that infinitely respawns. GameFront reached out to the developer and it replied that the ability to infininitely gather resources was not a glitch, and it won't be changed in a future patch.
“The resource-earning mechanic in Dead Space 3 is not a glitch. We have no plans to issue a patch to change this aspect of the game. We encourage players to explore the game and discover the areas where resources respawn for free. We’ve deliberately designed Dead Space 3 to allow players to harvest resources by playing through the game. For those that wish to accumulate upgrades instantly, we have enabled an optional system for them to buy the resources at a minimal cost ($1-$3).”

I believe it. I've seen 1 or 2 other places where items respawn.
This could be good or bad and I don't want to decide. Yea it's awesome to have an infinite respawn of desired resources, but it also makes it easier to gather all achievements for the game.
well, thats something.
That's cool. I don't have a problem paying for that stuff. If you really love the game and want to pay for resources then go for it. If you don't want to then you don't have too. People are making to big of a deal out of this. I think.
Collecting resources in this game really isn't an issue if you're thorough and use the scavenger bots at the right spots as they're available. I had way more resources than I needed by the time I finished (on hard) and the only things I ever bought were all the rig upgrades, tungsten rods and medkits. I bought one of the unique blueprint guns because I had so much extra junk, found out that it didn't even have cosmetic differences or better stats than one I could've made, and immediately went back to using the rifle/shotgun that came with the limited edition (kinda overpowered. Stronger and faster firing than the line gun/rocket launcher I made).
It'd be nice if there were numerical values instead of bars to indicate weapon strength in the upgrade menu to see if I can make guns stronger than what is visually indicated. Game's still wicked fun. Gotta find somebody to do the co-op stuff with and do a new game + impossible run and a classic run. For using one gun for the majority of the game I was never bored, and that classic run'll force me to use less convenient weaponry. So yeah, microtransactions are so optional I wonder why they exist at all (do remember to buy those packs with the ration seals the bots pick up, though), and I really don't get why people would use a room exploit when resources are so plentiful throughout the game. And the game allows repeating past chapters with no penalty on current progress, and everything gathered is added to your inventory, so yeah. Resources are a non-issue.
Wow!! looks like i better pick this game up now.
Mattyhew Likes this !!
That's actually kinda cool.
Interesting. I'm getting this soon, so I might try this glitch out.
so its true they *** hate that they had to corwbar in the fee to pay mechanics so they added this love u guys visceral
Well that's awesome!
Cool. I think it was an error and they don't want to fess up to it.
Nah it wasn't an error, I think the devs didn't want it to be a pay to win game so they added this to negate that.
